Adhering to the principles of the United Nations Global Compact since 2019, the company, as a
commercial company of CASTEL Group, has thus publicly committed to aligning its long-term
strategy on 10 fundamental universal principles, on the strong themes of human rights,
international labor standards, anti-corruption, and naturally the environment.
Castel Frères is thus committed to the environment in a sustainable way, and in particular on
these three key points :
REDUCING GREENHOUSE GASES
By adhering to the Global Compact, Castel is committed to the 2030 agenda which sets a target of
- 40 % reduction in greenhouse gas emissions in 2030 compared to 1990, to tend towards carbon
neutrality by 2050. ISO 50001 certification was enacted on two production facilities instead of
mandatory energy audits.
REDUCING THE IMPACT OF OUR PACKAGING
For more than 10 years, the use of lightweight bottles on our main brands, such as Roche Mazet
and Baron de Lestac, has helped to reduce the tonnage of glass. 900 tonnes of glass are thus
saved each year.
VALORING OUR WASTE
The waste generated by winegrowing activities constitutes potential "secondary" raw materials
that can be valorized in agriculture (wood, green waste...) or in industry (glassine, cardboard,
cork stoppers, pallets, etc.). The proportion of waste valorized on production facilities is
over 89%.
